Isle of Wight - Sandown
Sandown is a seaside resort town and civil parish on the
southeast coast of the Isle of Wight, England, neighbouring the town
of Shanklin to the south. Sandown Bay is the name of the bay off the
English Channel which both towns share, and it is notable for its
long stretch of easily accessible golden sandy beach. It is the site
of the lost Sandown Castle. Whilst undergoing construction, this was
attacked by a French force which had fought its way over Culver Down
from Whitecliff Bay, resulting in the French being repulsed. It was
built too far into the sea and constantly suffered erosion, until
now reduced to a pile of rocks. Later forts in the town include the
Diamond Fort (named after its plan), built inshore to replace the
castle and which fought off a minor attack from privateers (probably
French) in 1788, and the present "Granite Fort", which is now the

evening, you can take advantage of the warm sunshine, the
wonderful sea air and, as we're licensed to serve alcohol, maybe
the odd sundowner or three!
To the rear of the property we have
ample parking, but for those of you not travelling by car, we
are conveniently located near to Lake railway station and for
other public transport, so one way or another, getting around
will be a breeze.

well presented Holiday Chalet fully equipped to a high standard
offering home from home accommodation. The Chalet comprises of two
bedrooms (one double room and the other a single with full size bunk
beds.) Both rooms have plenty of hanging and storage space.
Lounge area is open plan with a sofa that pulls out into a fully
size double bed for 1 to 2 adults, with freeview T.V on the wall,
DVD and Cd player with films, cds, books and board games. The
kitchen is fully equipped with free standing cooker for all your
self catering needs, table and chairs for 6.
Bathroom has a walk in shower, toilet and a wash hand basin. All
rooms have heating in them.
Outside we have a large closed-in decking area with seating for all
the family and in the summer evenings you can have your meals and
