St Austell is a
civil parish and major town in Cornwall, England, UK. It is situated
on the south coast approximately 10 miles (16 km) south of Bodmin
and 30 miles (48 km) west of the border with Devon. The town is
known locally as "Snozzle"
St Austell is the largest town in Cornwall: in the Office for
National Statistics mid-term estimates for 2010 the population was
30,800. St Austell civil parish is entirely urban in character.
As in much of Cornwall and neighbouring counties, tourism is
increasingly important to St Austell's economy. Tourists are drawn
to the area by nearby beaches and attractions such as the Eden
Project, sited in a former clay pit, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Summer visitors to the town make a big contribution to the local
economy. The China Clay Country Park, in a former china-clay pit two
miles north of the town, tells the story of the men, women and
children who lived, worked and played in the shadow of the clay tips
around St Austell.

Sticky's Place has been a holiday let since 2009 and has had dozens
of very satisfied holidaymakers who were really happy in the cottage
and made some wonderful comments that can be seen on this website.
Some have re-booked a future holiday.

Sticky's Place is situated in the grounds of the proprietors house,
which is believed to have been a clay mine captains house that is
100yrs old. Sticky's Place is a granite building that has been used
for approximately 20yrs as living accommodation and has recently
undergone total refurbishment and meets all safety standards. The
cottage is fitted with wired in smoke detectors and has a fire
blanket and extinguisher.

Mariners Lee Cottage is an old Coastguard Station which is over 150
years old with outstanding direct sea and harbour views and is
available as a holiday cottage throughout the year. The cottage is
located 400 yds up the hill from Mevagissey harbour and within
walking distance of a choice of seven good restaurants and four
accommodation consists of two double bedrooms, a family bathroom
with WC, separate downstairs WC, fully equipped kitchen, through
lounge/dining room, and downstairs utility room.

Pier House Hotel and Restaurant in St Austell Cornwall is situated
on the picturesque harbour of Charlestown with stunning views of the
port and coastline of St Austell bay. It has been a hotel since 1920
and now incorporates the Harbourside Inn Public House since 2004.
The Pier House Hotel and Restaurant in St Austell Cornwall,
(originally called Charlestown Hotel) was built in 1794 and was
originally two farm cottages. It became a farmhouse after the
Rashleigh Arms was built in 1851. Then the occupants at the farm
started taking in paying guests as farming prosperity declined
before 1914-1918 war until the farm once again became a hotel.
Being in a prominent position the Hotel takes an active part in the
activities as well as the day to day life in Charlestown for locals
and visitors alike who come from all over the world as well as
locally from within Cornwall.
Charlestown is a Georgian port remaining relatively unspoilt and
undeveloped reflecting how many West Country ports and fishing coves
looked prior to development being one of the finest late 18th and
early 19th century industrial harbour sites in the country. Built
for Charles Rashleigh, the port represents a rare example of a
mineral port with it's own defences and is one of the best preserved
china clay and copper ore ports of it's period anywhere in the world
which is why it is now being protected by WORLD HERITAGE STATUS.
