Cornwall - Gorran Haven

Gorran Haven is a fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Mevagissey.

The village lies in a cove between two sandy beaches. Vault Beach (also known as Bow beach) is south of Gorran Haven and Great Perhaver Beach is to the north.
Gorran Haven lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.

The geologist Charles William Peach worked in the area and there is a plaque to his memory in the village. His son Ben Peach was born in Gorran Haven.
The former head of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove was born and initially raised in Gorran Haven.
The writer Colin Wilson settled in Gorran Haven during the 1950s.

Our holiday properties can be found in the heart of the delightful historic fishing village of Gorran Haven in South Cornwall, with its family friendly golden sandy beach protected by the old harbour wall, small shops, restaurant and cafe.

There are many attractive National Trust walks around the area with some of the most stunning views, including the South West coastal path which boasts unrivalled views across St Austell bay.

Mevagissey’s picturesque harbour and narrow streets are well worth a visit, also The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Tall Ships at Charlestown, Tate Gallery at St Ives and Lands End.
